SHRINERS TO ONCE AGAIN BENEFIT FROM BOONE COUNTY CAR SHOW

Florence, KY/August 13, 2008-Organizers of the annual Labor of Love Car Show, scheduled for Saturday, August 30 at the Boone County Fairgrounds hope to jumpstart donations for Shriners Hospital.

The event annually raises money for Shriners, last year the total was $900. Organizer Phyllis Haynes says she hopes they raise much more this year.

All models and makes of cars, trucks and motorcycles will be on display. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given out at 4 p.m. The registration fee is $10 to show your vehicle. Admission is free or you can donate money in a Shriners bucket that will be available.

There will be plenty to do: music by Hot Sounds Mobile DJ Systems, a model car contest, a Porta Potty race, various door prizes, corn hole, food and lots of family fun. The Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile will even be there. A special “Goody Bag” of jewelry and cosmetics will be given to the first 100 women at the show. The mission of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau is that of an aggressive sales, marketing, service and informational organization whose primary responsibility is to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures. The direct economic impact of visitors’ spending in Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties in 2007 was $325 million.
